Usually I don't go to CNN because most of the news I read just makes me sick. Today was no exception. Don't people have better things to do than get pissed at something this ridiculous? Here's an idea: Quit wasting time and money, you fucking morons, and do something useful for the world. I hear poverty and AIDS are a real big deal ...
IKEA to update 'sex bias' manuals
I realize, of course, that I am not heeding my own advice by being pissed at something trivial like this. However, I don't waste tax dollars when I state my gripes.

Yeah, I don't get pissed so much about these stories existing so much as I get pissed that they are actually considered NEWS enough to put on the front pages of major NEWS sources.
Of course, that helps explain why these days IF I visit a site like CNN.com, I'm usually just a headline reader to understand what the rest of the world thinks is what I read. Then I realize that I wouldn't want or care to read about 75% of what's on the front page and the other 25% is usually so badly reasearched/written or simply ripped from other news sources anyway that I go read about it on slashdot.org, salon.com, bbc.co.uk, etc. Hell, I may be getting a biased perspective via some of the sources I use, but it's no more so than someplace like CNN and... I DON'T READ OR TRUST JUST ONE!!! Imagine that?!

This isn't dumb so much because CNN is reporting it, or even that IKEA is doing it. What's out there is that the Norweigian PM was the one taking them to task about it. Maybe he ate some bad lutafisk or something that causes him to care about IKEA's image.

Remember that software product I used to manage and the watch videos? We had hours of meetings about the gender/age etc of the people in them. "They" finally decided it was safer to go with animation of blue sexless ageless people than to risk getting the ratios wrong. SNARK
