Intelligence in a sea of insanity

With the China situation getting more and more charged, it's good to see a steady head observing everything that follows (with some knowing observations to boot). I'm glad to have found this blog.

It's amazing how little (almost none) coverage there is of any of this in the US right now. Instead, all I see and hear is non-ending coverage about "the Cardinals didn't pick a new pope again today..."

I know I have my biases, but seriously--is it necessary to pay this much attention to a situation with mostly inevitable outcomes when there are so many important things for us to care about and actually act upon?

Then again, most Americans don't really want to act upon anything, so why bother telling them any useful information? Heck, I have to dig into independent journalism and biased activism media to find out what the US government is actually doing these days simply because major media doesn't talk about it. Eh, same rant, different day...

why is my blog not linked, am I not cool enough. Other people have LJ too.
