Texas is still a scary place

Matt sent me a real eye-opener this morning. You know my policy on links (not too many in a given week) but this one was both scary and funny at the same time, so I had to share it. Plus it's the weekend and I'm not creative until I'm in between classes at school.

As he said, it's unbelievable that someone said this completely seriously:

"I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?"

That there folks, is a true sign of ... intelligence.

police tend to have some funny ideas for keeping us "safe". like, this one for instance:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/12/AR2006021200943.html

A prime case of our law enforcement officers "hard at work."

Classy.

Where was that again, Penisylvania? "Spot" as in the dog, or a "blemish".

"If you want to make them, this has to be done."

Kinda sums it up nicely, I'd say. Urgent issue.

The quote -- seems not just limited to Texas, unfortunately. Isn't that the entire argument behind support of the NSA spying on us RIGHT NOW?

Yeah, the US of A is so fucked up right now. I can't read a single newspaper article these days without responding with a resounding WTF???!!!! And then I remember that there are no bounds to the idiocy of the current administration nor most of the country that blindly goes along with whatever "they" believe is best for "us".
It's so depressing.

Isn't that the entire argument behind support of the NSA spying on us RIGHT NOW?

Indeed, indeed. Do you ever wonder if your parents are being spied on for making repeated phone calls to a foreign country?

I assume mine aren't because Japan is a "friendly" country but the doubt still lingers...
