Interesting English

I bought a shirt the other day (big-time sales here, woohoo!) and received some sort of re-usable bag with it. Whatever.

I was staring at it today in some sort of reverie, and realized it was supposed to be a word in English.

Can you figure out what it is? (Click the link)

Maybe something like "princess"? I'm assuming those 2 letters on the crown say "QB", like "Queen Bee" or something? Also, I looked up "prexsus" and kept finding Everquest links. Other than that, I'm clueless.

Miss ya, dahling!

KC

Eww on the eyelid folds - why does everyone want to be like someone else?

No idea what the googooprexus is supposed ot mean

Now for your japaneses test: can you tell me what these phrases mean?

Wan-wan chan wa, kawaii desu!

Yes, the dog/puppy is cute.
...
Why in the world would I have a maple tree on my table?

googleplexus?

sounds familiar like googleplex-that verrry large number?

that's it for the old folks

sounds familiar like googleplex-that verrry large number?

Dingdingding! Googleplex, the number one (1) with a hundred zeroes after it!

I don't know why they made it "googleplexus." Maybe that makes it singluar? Like the Solar Plexus? Googleplexus isn't in the dictionary so I can only assume it sounded cooler to whoever designed the bag ...

I think if I were in your place, I would go to work/school wearing a shirt that said something like "I am not naked" on the front of it. Just to see if any of your students were paying attention or had a clue. From the sounds of it, maybe one person would understand it.

Of course, that's just my monday-morning suggestion.

wearing a shirt that said something like "I am not naked"

You would do something like that, wouldn't you? Oddly, a lot more regular Japanese teachers can read English (as opposed to speak it). Though I think most wouldn't know "naked," seeing as I didn't even learn it in Japanese until fairly recently. I mean ... the odds of needing to know how to say it are pretty ...

I am often titillated by the thought that...we're all naked under our clothes. Oooh!

(Never mind!)

Why wasn't it "GOOGOOROOPREXSUS", though? (And why the extra S after X?! Argh!)

BTW, anyone else irked to hell by the abbreviation for "The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology"? (M.E.C.S.S.T. => MEXT)

(Or the fact that sports comes before science and technology?! What is this, Little America?)
