Reversals in the Classroom
Remember when you were in school, you always used to snicker about how the teacher couldn't figure out the simplest of technology, like the VCR or the projector?
I'm no stranger to technology as you know, but in the past two days I found myself on the receiving end of a big dose of irony. I spent five minutes at the beginning of each class struggling manfully with the DVD player. The sudden realization that I had just dated myself made it all the worse.

hahahahaha.

I remember when knowing how to code in C or Java was cool. Now I'm meeting kids at DA that are using APIs and languages that I've only heard of to do way geekier things than I ever did... and they're in high school.
I've also gotten to the point where I actually don't even know what half the things on anandtech or tomshardware even are.
Yeah, we're becoming useless already. Pretty soon our DNA will be the only thing of value left to us, and even that will be questionable. :-)

Did you let loose with some GAWD-F$%@ING-DAMMIT! during this whole ordeal like the good old days playin' quake? Cause that would be awesome. ;)

Try working in broadcasting. Every week there is some new fangled High Definition Gizmo-ma-thingy that I have to not only learn how to operate, I have to know how to fix damned gadget when it stops doing whatever the hell it is supposed to do.

Such is why I don't work in broadcasting.
Instead I'm a computer geek. Go figure...
